Pillbug/ Isopod Suncatcher

These isopod suncatchers were completely hand cut and assembled by me using the traditional Tiffany method from start to finish in the UK.

It measures approximately 8 inches x 4 inches (including antennae). 

The glass is cut from sheets of stained glass and the edges ground down. Then, once foiled with the Tiffany method, the pieces are soldered together with 40/60 lead solder. A black patina is then added to the solder lines to create crisp lines. This piece was polished with carnauba wax to keep the solder lines sold and shiny.

The price reflects the time it took me to make this piece and the materials used. 

As this is a completely handmade product, please expect imperfections in the design. The price reflects this. 

The suncatcher may come with white flecks of wax on it, but please don't worry! This is just due to a protective coat of wax I apply to keep the solder looking shiny. You can buff this up to shiny again and get rid of the white flecks by gently buffing with a soft cloth or soft toothbrush.
